French Style
Where in New Zealand can I buy French-style “Munster” cheese?

You know, the apocalyptically smelly one, the type they serve with chopped onions in Alsace, and which should better not be left in a car when you go on holiday.
I’ve checked the usual suspects (Pak’N Save, Woolworth, New World), no joy.
Are there any fellow cheeserinos cognisant of a Munster cheese source down here?
Merci.

Try Vinotica in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. From memory, you’re in Dunedin so you’ll probably need to order it from their website – http://www.vinotica.co.nz/.

PS: I see from prior questions of yours that you are off to Auckland to live and, more specifically, to Albany to work. Looks like you’ve hit the jackpot!! If you can wait till you get there, you can go pick up the cheese personally. Avoid hot days…….. :-)

Top Lighter

Top Lighter
Can you use a lighter stain with polyur. over top already dark stained furniture to end with glossy finish.?

I have stained a piece of furniture with early american stain which is a med. color brown. I have no lacquer to finish with. I do have a lighter color stain with polyurethane will this do the same as lacquer and not change the color it already has?

It should not change the color at all but just in case, try it ina inconspicuous area like underneath the item.

If the underside is not stained with the med brown, stain it and then try the lighter.

Oil Lighter

Oil Lighter
Is the earth getting lighter because of oil and mineral depletion?

No, the molecules that make up the oils and minerals are still here on Earth (well, except for a few spacecraft we’ve sent to the Moon, Mars, Venus and beyond). They’ve just been converted into other compounds, such as carbon dioxide – which is a concern because carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and traps heat.
