Automatic Ejection

Men's ASA Slowpitch Player Ejection and Forfeiture Question?
We only had 11 players present at our game so we played with 10 in the field and one DH. Part way through the game we had a player who was ejected from the game. While playing the game that player's batting spot became a automatic out everytime we came through the order. However, after completing/winning the game we were told it was considered a forfeiture because we need to finish the game with the same # of players as we started. Is this true? If so, where can I find the ruling?
their website for the ASA is
www.softball.org
...but if you want a copy of the rule book you can only get it from either the commissioner in your area or Umpire-in-Chief.
I'm not an Ump so I can only tell you that that rule could be different based on whether it is tournament play or general play. I'm sure there is an Ump out there who can tell you though, good luck!
