Automatic Cigarette
Trying to replace cassette player in 1981 Rx7. Upper screws/cigarette lighter out, can't get lower part loose
Car is automatic and somehow I feel that the surrounding area has to come off but cannot figure out how. Can't find any screws or anything so was hoping someone else has replaced one and can tell me how to get it apart. Thanks much
sometimes there are little slots or holes that you have to poke something into on the front at the sides of the faceplate. This usually releases a catch or a spring clip that then allows you to pull the head unit out. On some older units the head unit is bolted to a bracket at the back, so it might be worth seeing if you can look behind it if there are no release holes as first described. Those little dentist mirrors can help with looking inside. Good luck!
