Stop Smoking – How To Quit Smoking! – Its Easy To Stop Smoking

Posted in cigarrette by admin @ Nov 19, 2009

Do you really want to stop smoking or do you want to help somebody quit smoking? If your answer is YES then this brings us to yet another question “How can you stop smoking?” how can you or anybody else quit this stinking habit? Well, in rare cases it’s easy for some individuals to quit the smoking habit, they will just wake up one day and decide they will never smoke again and they quit smoking just like that. Out of my own experience I think nobody enjoys smoking, it’s only the beginners who enjoy this habit in it’s early stages until they are addicted to the habit and start fighting it back in efforts of trying to quit the same habit, therefore a majority of so called “smokers” only smoke because they are addicted to smoking and not because they enjoy smoking.

I will tell you a short story of my own experience. I started smoking back in 1995 when I used to work in a discotheque as a Dj. I was drawn to the habit by friends and I got deep into it not realizing what I was getting my self into. At first it was fun it was cool and it felt so good “smoking”, it was relaxing. After a year I decided, well I am tired of smoking and its time to quit so I woke up one morning and said to my self I will never smoke again. Three hours later on that same day while smoking my second cigarette is when I remembered that I had made a decision that morning never to smoke again! I felt terrible it was like I had betrayed my self; this went on for days months and years until I realized how difficult it was for me to stop the habit.

This “war” between me and smoking went on for twelve years; I tried every thing from eating specific kinds of selected foods to all sorts of medicine including herbal medicines in the efforts of trying to get rid of the cigarette cravings but nothing worked until one day in 2006 while searching for the cure to my smoking problem on the internet I came across this amazing Freedom From Smoking Guide. At first I thought it was just one of the many online money making scams that are all over the internet, but I took some time and thought of how smoking was affecting my life, my health, my finances, my wife, my new baby, almost every part of my life was affected by smoking and I decided to download that guide and give it a try. This guide changed my life almost instantly, finally after 12 years of bondage I stopped smoking just like that simply by following the simple steps and guidelines in this amazing Freedom From Smoking Guide for only 17$ . Click here to see Freedom From Smoking Guide.

For Most people smoking is a hard habit to break because tobacco contains nicotine which is highly addictive to the body and mind just like cocaine and other addictive drugs. The body and mind get so used to the nicotine in cigarettes that a person has to smoke just to feel normal and think straight.

Most people know that smoking cause’s cancer, emphysema, wrinkles, and so on and it also shortens your life span by 10 years or more, it costs smokers thousands of dollars or more every year yet people continue to smoke, this just shows how powerful this cigarette smoking addiction is and therefore it is not something to play or joke around with.

During the 12 years of my smoking addiction I was a heavy smoker I smoked thirty to thirty five cigarettes in a day, I was spending a lot of money on cigarettes my skin turned grey and wrinkled my hair was falling off and I finally developed a serious chest condition which crippled me financially I was in a lot of pain and weak and my life was slowly fading away. It’s now very important for you who is currently addicted or may be you know a loved one you can help get out of this slavery to act now before it’s too late by simply downloading this Freedom From Smoking Guide for only 17$ you will save yourself or someone else from spending thousands of dollars in trying to cure smoking related illnesses or even death.

Consequences of smoking:

Every time you light a cigarette be sure that by the time you finish smoking it you will have lost 5 to 20 minutes of your life, that’s a proven fact. Smokers also tend to develop yellow teeth and loose bone density which increases the risk of osteoporosis a condition that causes bones to break easily and bend over during old age. Smoking affects lung power meaning smokers tend to be less active. Smoking causes fertility problems and affects sexual health in both men and women, women using any form of birth control can develop serious health problems including heart attacks when they smoke and in the case of men they tend to develop erection problems.

Cigarette, cigars and pipe smoke contains over 4000 different harmful chemicals which affect a person’s body and health quickly some of these effects are: High risk of illness, slow healing of injuries, reduced physical performance, bad smells and breath, stained teeth and bad skin. All forms of tobacco are hazardous. Most smokers try to substitute the regular cigarette with other products that seem like they are better for them like filtered or low tar cigarettes but the only thing which helps a person avoid the problems associated with smoking is staying smoke free. From my own experience staying smoke free brings with it a lot of benefit, when a smoker quits smoking he/she becomes more energetic, they become good looking with more money in their pockets and most important more life to live. 1. I quit smoking, how do I stop gaining weight?
I quit smoking on 10-18-07, but have been gaining a little bit of weight since. I obviously know physical activity helps, I’ve never been VERY active, but I’m by no means fat. I just want to know some easy ways to stop the weight gain associated with not smoking, it seems like I find myself eating a lot more now. Thanks

  2. That’s because you are used to putting something in your mouth. Try to reduce your snacking and exercise more.

  4. If you find yourself wanting to eat, get something like celery or carrots. If you need to suck on something, use sugarfree candy rather than normal candy. This will help with unneccessary calories.

  5. I guess you are eating as a way of occupying yourself instead of smoking, and also smoking can be an appetite suppressant so you don’t eat as much.

I found that having fruit or something like carrot sticks around helped – when there was the urge to munch because I couldn’t have a cigarette, I would eat those as doing the least amount of damage.

The important thing though, is that you have given up and putting on a little bit of weight at the moment is not the end of the world – because it is more important for your health that you stop smoking.

Other things that you could try would be dried fruit (easy to carry around) or chewing gum (though not too much as I am told that it has other side effects!).

Well done for giving up and keep going!

  6. I have read that almost everyone who stops smoking gains about 30 pounds in the next few months. You have changed your metabolism and slowed it down a bit, remember cigarettes are a stimulus. In almost all cases, the weight will come off over a period of time when your body regulates itself. Meanwhile, you should eat a good, healthy diet and drink enough water. This will pass.
    BTW, good for YOU!

  7. Well, the only way to stop gaining weight is to stop eating so much. Cut down on your portion sizes. Eat sensibly, for example, don’t eat take away meals. These are always high in fat. Not only that but usually have hidden sugar and tons of salt added. Eat only fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat protein such as chicken (without the skin) and fish. Make up salads in the morning so that you can dip into them during the day if you feel peckish. Gaining weight after giving up smoking need not happen if you eat properly. Cut down on fat and fast foods, crisps, chocolate biscuits etc. It is the only way, I am afraid. More importantly is that you have given up smoking!! How brilliant is that. How much more healthy must you be now, weight gain or not??!!?? Give yourself a huge pat on the back and feel proud.
    Cheers

  8. you can eat as much as u want as long as its a lot of vegetables and fruits, without dressing and all those add ons. The fiber in them would make u digest stuff quicker, and hence giving less weight to gain. On top of that its obvious cardio and exercises would help that process.

  11. Firstly, try and find something that could take your mind off smoking, for instance " swimming " then do this for a couple of weeks, also instead of snacking on junk try snacking on fruit or Veg. Always pick the healthier option.

  13. Congratulations! I recently quit smoking as well =] Ok here are a few facts and reccomendations. Fact 1: You are in the habit of putting something in your motuh when your happy, upset, or sad, or stressed, most commonly we replace the cigs with what? Food… =[ I know you are not very active but 30 minutes a day will make such a difference, I’m not saying hit the gym or run a marathon, but maybe go for a walk, walk the dog, go with one of your friends, or a significant other….. Try riding a bike if u dont liek to walk… Every night before you go to bed, put two 8oz glasses (so 16oz total) of water in the fridge, and as soon as you wake up before you do ANYTHING drink those two glasses of water! Studies have shown that drinking cold water, especially on an empty stomache will elevate your metabolism by 25%! The effect usually last 3-4 hours. If you get cravings for a sig or want a healthy, tasty snack, that will boost your metabolism, try a small handful (2oz) of lightly salted almonds and two COLD 8oz glasses of water, in no time you’ll be ready for the beach or that special event! have a great day, contact me if u need more advice.

  14. You have replaced the stoggy with the munchies…also your taste buds are clearing up and now have different effects on the system.

It’s your daily habits you have not changed….when you were smoking and say was out walking you smoked as you walked…if you lightup when taking a break from yard work, smoked as you drove,
All those habits are still ther just in twinges of "feed me"
Try not to eat main meals after 8pm, if you stay up late then make sure your snackes are healthy…popcorn…try flavoring them yourself..spicy…
I even cooked some veggees to snack on….
veggees & dips…the spicer the foods the less you will hunger for …..make sure all food a chewed well….jaw to brain thing…
when you eat take the time to enjoy….

    lastly..chew gum…..different flavors….sugar free candy..diabetic candy….rotate your snacks so as not to get bored…..try new goodies……

Keep reminding yourself…how much better you feel …even if you don’t seem to notice….did you know that your lungs will clear up in 10 years as if you never had smoked….
I have been a non smoker now for over 10 yrs, and I went cold turkey from 3-4 packs a day

    good luck……
