Is It Legal To Order Cigarettes Online?
I heard of people being nailed by the IRS and the State for buying cigarettes online and making them pay thousands of dollars because you don’t pay any taxes online. Are these stories true, I don’t see how you can get in any legal trouble.
It’s legal to order them, but you do have to pay taxes. They also started cracking down on Indian reservations, who were exempt from the taxes (they were the only sites where people didn’t pay taxes).
They are able to track the sales through credit cards. There are some reservations who will complete the sale by debiting your checking account; apparently this isn’t flagged.
Has anyone bought cigarettes online that have actually been delivered?
