Types Of Smoking Shelters
Smoking involves the addiction of nicotine. Those who are less dependent on cigarettes may be successful by using only a few sources of help. However, the more help you have, the better your chances of quitting and staying smoke-free. Government laws have been passed in various countries for the ban of smoking in public areas. Going with these laws, some of the offices also prohibit smoking inside their premises.
To help the smokers who still wish to smoke, the birth of the smoking shelters took place. As the name suggests, it is the shelter for the people who smoke. Preventing the problems of the cigarette butts disposal and the fire risk attached with it.
All the smoking shelters designed and built should be in a way easy to access and easy dispersal of the cigarette butts waste as well the cigarette smoke. The smoking shelters allow the smokers to have a relaxed state of mind while smoking at these shelters. Some of the companies that design and build the smoking shelters offer to make seating arrangements as well inside the smoking shelters.
Amongst the smoking shelters, there are the two types:
• Free standing units
• Wall mounted shelters
Free standing smoking shelters are the traditional kind of shelters offering a space for five to seven people at the most. The roofs of the free standing smoking shelters are often in sync with the industrial buildings for the flat roof. However, with the advancement of the technology and architecture, there have been various kinds of roofs and various materials in use for the construction of the free standing smoking shelters.
Wall mounted shelters are ideal for small business. Two to three people are usually covered under these kinds of shelters. It is quite economical as there are only three sides to be covered under construction for the smoking shelter as opposed to four sides in a free standing smoking shelter.
No matter whether the smoking shelter is free standing or wall mounted, it is a boon for the smokers who are banned to smoke at public. These shelters might disappear in the years to come being replaced by all of the smokers adapting to being non-smokers. Or the advancement in the technology might replace these smoking shelters to something new and innovative.

Yes – people that feel in authoritah-position are many. Suddenly they can also feel better than others, which is pretty much what carries the whole anti-smoking campaign, which is one of the most discriminating and most succesful mass-deception in modern times.

I think she would have moaned at the mugger and happy slapper as well,
I don’t get your point what have muggers and happy slappers got to do with smokers???
non smokers have the right to clean air, they chose not to smoke so why should they have to put up with breathing other peoples?, I smoke by the way, but not around other people.

Depends on the bus shelter. If it is one side and a canopy then it’s not an enclosed space as more than 50% is open. I’m sorely tempted to walk around with a few copies of the Statutory Instrument in my pocket for the tut-tut brigade.

Non-smokers are some of the most self-righteous folks out there. Most seem to forget that nicotine is one of the MOST addictive things out there. It is so easy to get up on a soap box and preach about bad stuff, but then get in their car after a few drinks and drive home.

I can not think of a single person who does not complain about criminal activity,Such as mugging! If someone were to mug me you darn well better believe I’d complain! Second had smoke does kill. My aunt never smoked a cigarette in her like yet because her husband smoked she died of lung cancer! He didn’t even stop smoking around her after she was diagnosed! His son-in-law had to threaten to beat him up,before he went to the back porch to smoke. I myself wish that smoking would be outlawed not just to save smokers from themselves but to save nonsmokers from second hand smoke.

Probably would have only complained if she were the one being mugged, but not got involved if it was someone else.
The anti-smoking campaign is yet another example of how modern society will blindly follow the thoughts of the few. Any research that has challenged any of the smoking concerns has been hidden and discounted as trash.
My grandfather was diagnosed and died from lung cancer. The doctors told him it was from smoking, which he had never done in his life. The doctors swore that’s what caused it, until they actually did further testing and determined it was from asbestos.

Its because smokers are an easy target, and are very tolerant towards others, even, and I am sad to say, the ‘cigarette police’. Who like the Medodists of old, think its their mission in life to mar the enjoyment and liberty of others.

The concept of punishment fitting the crime seems to evade most people these days.
Smoking other people’s exhaled residue is not pleasant, but it certainly warrants less recrimination than some of the more socially unacceptable behaviour which we are forced to put up with. The sooner the police get down to arresting miscreant youths an clamp down on yob culture, the better life will be; but NO they insist on taking the softer targets and criminalising everybody for anything they can get away with.
