Buying Cigarettes Online From A Different Country?
I live in NY, If I were to buy cigarettes online from a store located in Europe would It still be possible to get hit with a Tax bill?
Chances are that you will not be paying any taxes on them. Just like buying cigarettes from another state, the govt can not check all incoming packages (unless they are drugs or anything illegal) You are supposed to report it and pay taxes but its highly unlikely that you will get caught. Good luck

European companies don’t have to comply with the Jenkins Act (which requires US vendors to report the recipients of their online cigarettes). You are still legally required to pay the taxes, but your chances of being reported are very slim.
However, if you have any kind of brand loyalty, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be getting what you think you’re buying. There are lots of counterfeits.
