How to get sticker residue off a glass jar?
I wanted to make a candle so I found this jar and it was all sticky...how do I get the stickiness off so the jar will work?
I like using isopropyl or rubbing alcohol as it does dissolve the sticker goo and it leaves no residue afterwards. Actually, alcohol is a great secret weapon for general purpose cleaning as it does cut grease very well and dries with no residue. It's great on glass and chrome.
Acetone (in nail polish remover) is also good, but the fumes are pretty bad.
Oils work well. But then you have to clean the oil off of the glass. Oils are my last choice for this job (including WD-40, mineral spirits, olive oil, etc).
