im making an ashtray in my ceramics class....do i need to put in high fire after its bisqued or is just?

the bisque ok...which is better....also does anyone know where i can buy the stain that is used in ceramics....thanx in advance...
i know it needs to be glazed im just wondering would it be better to go with a high fire glaze or low fire...

Glaze it and fire for easier clean up if if is actually used.
